Well hello! If it wasn't for Tiny's email about blogging, then I would've forgotten about this site! You can thank FB for the constant mini updates, but it can get overwhelming and I feel like it has to be witty to keep that up.

Here's 2009 so far, in no particular order:

  • Transferred to another department on campus, promotional opportunity. It's nice to have my own office and not have to supervise people! Yay!
  • Learned how to play chess and have kicked butt so far! Wanna play?
  • Went camping in Havilah with Gary
  • Paid off my Matrix
  • Took a motorcycle class and obtained my M-1 license. Gonna save up for an old Honda.
  • Been to many vintage scooter rallies, including Vegas. Scooter people are weird.
  • Hollywood Bowl - Death Cab for Cutie and Tegan & Sara
  • June Lake/Mono Lake
  • South Carolina to visit Gary's family
  • Went camping at Angeles Forest
  • My cousin Michelle got married and I was a bridesmaid. I still need to return the hair extensions that covered my back tattoo!
  • Went to see This American Life LIVE! but in a movie theater
  • Stereo Total and Leslie and the Lys - what a crazy show!
  • LA Kings game - I meant to go to a LA Galaxy game too but never made it
  • Gary got to borrow a Porshe one day and we drove to Ventura while looking like douchbaggies
  • Went to Upright Citizens Brigade live improv show
  • My sister Jes got her Bachelor's degree, my mom brought pots and pans to bang
  • the Phayraohs started practicing, they played two shows, and I sang harmony for a song
  • Os Mutantes at the Echo-plex - wow, weird
  • Went to both Getty museums
  • Saw the Slackers and Hepcat at El Rey (separate shows)

Looking forward to the Get Up Kids show with Eric!

What have I been up to lately?
I celebrated Festivus - the holiday for the rest of us!
It's been about a year since I started going out to dance. I said "Happy Anniversary" to a lot of DJs and scene friends that I've met this past year. I even got asked, "Where did you come from?" Literally and rhetorically. The single life brought me out and I love it. Monday nights are still at Rock Steady Lounge. If someone worth seeing performs on Wednesday, I'll go to Dub Club or Bluebeat Lounge. It's rare. Depending on the Thursday of the month, Club Ammunition/Broader than Broadway/Oasis Thursday. Saturdays at Funky Sole.
My ex boyfriend from last year started coming around again and wanted to hang out, when the guy I dated in the summer dumped me three times. I'm so over both of them. I did the internet dating thing too, I'm over that.
I just met a new guy (in person) and it's really exciting and scary how much we are alike.
I'm going to start volunteering again, at least once a month.
I'd like to look for a new job, go to grad school, and move out somewhere in LA. Soon. For real this time.
Only seven months left to pay off the Matrix. Then I'll be rich!
I'm tired of writing already. Boring!

Going to India with the music group in January for three weeks. I was trying to look for a new job but keep getting dumped. If I stay with the current job, I'll have exactly three weeks paid vacation on my back. Yeah... part of the big plan.
